Part Ways With Wizkid’s Starboy Records Else We Will Disown You – Fans Of R2Bees Threaten
GHBase.com recently published a blog which sought to throw light on the abysmal performance of R2Bees and Efya ever since they joined Wizkid’s Starboy records.
In the blog, it was evident that the decision of the aforementioned Ghanaian artistes were born out of their eagerness to get international appeal.
But unfortunately, the under listed artistes are gradually fading away from Ghana’s music industry ever since they joined Starboy records somewhere 2015.
As a result, Ghanaians have expressed a disheartening concern about their performances off late especially R2Bees. To them, R2Bees they used to know some years ago is not the same group currently all other things being equal. This means something is certainly wrong somewhere so they won’t sit down aloof.
According to one loyal fan who shared his sentiment with GHBase.com, he posited that;
“R2Bees were so cheap. They could have stood on their own to make impact. R2Bees were the only vibrant music group left in Ghana with the hope to take over Africa with good music but they sold out so cheap!” he (name of fan withheld) vehemently stated.
Also, one other fan painfully revealed that, “R2Bees took six VGMAs with their own effort in 2013 but under Starboy records, all they hear is… #Plantain Chips”, he rhetorted.
According to the fans, it’s evident their favorite music group is gradually fading so they must fight to save them. To them, they are optimistic that Wizkid’s Starboy Records has contributed to the wack performance of R2Bees so it’s time for them to break away by hook or crook.
Although, it won’t be easy to break contract looking at the various entrenched clauses but they must pull the bull by the horn and pay the penalty in order to redeem their degenerating image in Ghana Music. To achieve that, they’ve given R2Bees from today till the end of 2017 to break away from Starboy records else they’ll disown them!
Well, it’s an established fact that fans play a vital role in the success of artistes especially in Ghana. So, now that fans of R2Bees are demanding for their break away from Starboy records, let us see how the music group will respond to their fans. Do you think Starboy records has been the major cause of their wack output?? Share your sentiments with us in the comment box.
