Mostly when it comes to issues of musicians’ royalties, the least is heard from Dancehall artist Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. popularly known as Shatta Wale but the award winning musician has raised a red flag over his royalties from Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO).

Shatta Wale in a Facebook post, Wednesday, threatened to go out of control if GHAMRO royalties due him are not paid to him.

GHAMRO are you ready to pay my royalties or you want me to go haywire!!.”

The founder of Shatta Movement (SM) has released countless hit songs which still enjoy airplay.

Prior to that the PRO of the Ghana Music Rights Organisation, (GHAMRO) Prince Tsegah last month (April) told Kasapafmonline.com that the Rex Omar led GHAMRO administration has so far distributed an amount of GhC1,746,000 as outstanding royalties to about 80 per cent of right owners.

According to Prince Tsegah, an amount of GHC411,640 which forms part of royalties collected from last year was added to the statutory distribution of GhC1,334,400 thus raising the current distribution amount for the December 2016 royalties to GhC1,746,000, an increase of 20 per cent.
