Movie Industry Has ‘Broken Neck’, Needs ‘POP’ - Agya Koo
Kumawood actor Agya Koo says contrary to the belief held by many, the Ghanaian movie industry is not dead but has rather been facing a few challenges.
He described the movie industry as having a ‘broken neck’ and needs Plaster of Paris (POP).
Speaking to Sandra of Adom TV, the actor stressed that people should not blame telenovelas for the woes of the industry today.
Agya Koo noted that telenovelas have always existed in the past but could not match the local movies that he featured in.
The actor, who has been in the movie industry for almost a decade, made reference to the fact that telenovelas such as ‘Rosalinda’ and series such as ‘Journey to the West’, which were very popular some years ago, were no match for Ghanaian movies.
The Kumawood star, therefore, urged movie producers to try as much as possible to revive the industry by going back to the days where Ghanaian movies were exciting.
