D-Black Applauds Government For Using Celebs To Promote Tourism

Rapper D-Black has endorsed government’s initiative to promote tourism with the support of entertainment personalities who act as ambassadors.

The rapper, who was at the cocktail held at the Accra City Hotel to welcome the tourism ambassadors, told Doreen Avio of Hitz FM that, he has a lot of interest in the tourism sector.

According to the ‘Vera’ hit maker, he knows a little about tourism and is very glad that the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken up the initiative to promote the tourism sector in such a manner.

D- Black, however, stressed that he has some history with the tourism sector since his mother once worked with the tourism industry for about 30 years.

He said “I love it. My Mum was in the tourism industry for about 30 years so I know a little bit about tourism. I’m really happy that the new government has taken steps in the right direction to promote Ghana a bit more extensively and I’m happy to be a part of this.”

The multiple award-winning artiste stated further that he has deep faith in the ambassadors that the Ministry picked to promote the country’s tourism.

He stressed that celebrities such as Reggie N Bolie, Fuse ODG as well as the most popular Ghanaian in Asia, Sam Okyere, are perfect ambassadors who will go a long way to put Ghana on the globe as far as tourism is concerned.

“In the United Kingdom, the most popular Ghanaian musicians are definitely Reggie N Bolie and Fuse ODG. I think promoting Ghana on whatever platform is important as a country to promote tourism here. This is to make Ghana a preferred tourist destination. I will support anybody who supports the initiative of the Ghana Tourism Authority.”

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) will outdoor a total of 50 ambassadors over the next two years for the purpose.
